Pro Wakeboard Tour Acworth
This weekend, the first stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour took place in Acworth, Georgia. This event can only be described in one word: awesome. Thousands of people had come to watch the finals of the Junior Pro Men, the Pro Ladies and of course the Pro Men. They were not disappointed, as the level of the competition was really high and the finals were bloodrushingly exiting.
In the Pro Junior Men, the battle was on between Jacob Valdez and Shota Tezuka. Shota managed to overpower Jacob this time, but the cards will be reshuffled for the next stop in Texas... Also, Marc Kroon was the first Dutch competitor to ever enter the PWT. He did an awesome job and wound up at the shared seventh place.
In the Pro Men, Steel Lafferty was the big surprise. This was the first time he competed in the Pro Mens division. He managed to grab hold of the 3rd place directly, making his grandpa really proud. “This kid can fly!”, were the legendary words he uttered when Steel hit the water.
Like last year, Harley Clifford won this stop, forcing Philip Soven accept to his second place.
The results for the Pro Women were quite surprising as well. Nicola Butler came in at the third place, right behind Amber Wing. Melissa Marquardt took the win by landing a toeside 540 and a roll to blind.
The next stop will be taking place in Texas next week. Make sure to check out the livestream here!
